7A - Oliver Twist, other essays and Australia

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a brilliant Easter and a good rest.

This week you will start off by writing about the movie Oliver Twist. I want you to include some facts about Charles Dickens in your essays. You will find more information about him here:

Charles Dickens

After that you will write another essay and you can choose between the subjects "A fantastic day" and "Country life or city life". I'm afraid you can not use your computers at all this time. You have to write the essays by hand and you must use an ordinary dictionary - not google translation.

If you are done with the essays you can start reading these fact sheets about Australia.

Have a lovely week!

7A, 7B - Podcast

Hello again!

I hope you all had a good rest. We will start off the week by taking a look at the podcast-function on your computers. Your verbal assignment this week is to make your own radio show.

First of all you have to decide what you want to discuss. This time you can choose your own subject. (You could, for example, discuss new games, how they function and even grade them.) Make notes on what you want to include in your discussions. One of you can be the host of the show. Well, I'm sure you will find lots of interesting subjects. If not - ask me.

You can work with your podcast during all my lessons this week (and Wednesday afternoon) and airdrop it to me by the end of next week. The program should not be longer than 20 minutes.

Have a good week!

During the last couple of weeks you've learnt something about schools in South Africa, Britain and USA. Now it's your turn to write a letter about schools in Sweden to an imaginary American student. Tell him/her about the following things:

(Start with an introduction of yourself. )

* homework
* teachers
* dress codes
* lunch/breaks
* after school activities

7A, 7B - final weeks

Hi again! You will be happy to hear that I will not give you any more homework before Christmas. But some of you need to complete the reading comprehension tests during week 50. Next week and the week before Christmas we're going to watch a movie and have some Christmas activities - including writing lists for Santa!

Before Christmas I would like you to give me suggestions on what you'd like to do next year, subjects and people you'd like to find out more about. Remember that next years assignments need to include writing and speaking English as well as reading/listening comprehension.

Have a nice week and if you haven't handed in "Food of the future" - please do so!

7A, 7B Food in the future

Well done everyone! It was great to see your keynote presentations and to hear about your food habits. You know, I expected to hear much more about hamburgers and pizzas! I was pleasantly surprised - most of you eat healthy food. And none of you eat Ben&Jerrys before bedtime (like I do...)

After we're done with the presentations we will carry on working with the chapter "What is the future of food". Your homework for next week will be to write a summary of the chapter and also to read a couple of articles about food we might eat in the future. The information in the articles must be included in your summary. I also want to hear about your own thoughts on the subject.

Anyway, I will give you more information during our next lesson...

If you follow this link you can read the articles about food in the future. The articles might be a bit hard for you to understand, but don't worry. We'll read them together and I'll explain the contents to you next time we meet.

7A, 7B Food habits!

Hello!

I hope you all had a great break.

Welcome to my new English blog. I hope the blog will help you to remember your homework and also make English even more fun. I'll do my best to find fun exercises for you so you can practise English 24/7!

This week we are going to carry on working with the "food" chapters. Your homework for next week (week 46) will be to create your own keynote presentation with your food habits. We want to know all about what you eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner  and what your favorite food is.

You will tell the rest of your class about your food habits during week 46 - 47.
We will also work with restaurant dialogues and do some acting...

If you want to practise more food words, take a look at these links!
